Character Information
A former foster child who was passed among many different homes on account of her "difficult personality." Strong-willed, witty, and cynical, Maelle is slow to trust others and even slower to show vulnerability. Her past is filled with rejections — both from her former foster families, as well as from opportunities — which has given her a low self-esteem, a trait she tends to cover up with an aloof sense of bravado.
Appearance
Tiny but mighty, you might say. Her short stature and youthful face aside, her physique is well-trained, strong, and quick. She typically dresses comfortably, prioritizing movement over anything else, and prefers a nice pair of slacks to a dress or skirt. She has smatterings of freckles just about everywhere, most immediately apparent on her face and hands.
Her most recognizable trait is her head of fiery hair, which is thick, slightly wavy, and normally tied back neatly into a ponytail.

Maelle has been trained extensively for a life-or-death expedition, giving her great stamina, strength, and general athleticism for her age and stature. This training has also given her basic know-how regarding first aid, survival in the wilderness, and so on.
Her weapon of choice is a rapier which she can summon magically, and her talent for fencing is extensive — something she is more than happy to remind someone of, should they lose a friendly duel to her.
Many of her offensive techniques involve the manipulation of fire; in addition to being able to conjure powerful flames, she's capable of setting enemies (or structures) ablaze to cause burn damage over time.
